Teaching Practices
Create and post an agenda for each class - which includes the plan for the class with specifics and “flow” of instruction
This includes:

Warm Up activities/exercises

Long Tone practice (very important at beginning stages)

Rhythmic practice (develops articulation)

Review of previous class(es) and learned concepts with whole group performance (usually from method book)

Introduction of new concepts/material/pieces
-
Review of known repertoire and material
Plan for adding new musical ideas and concepts with method book instruction and pieces of repertoire.
Plan for different types of instruction:

Whole group
-
Sectional/small group
-
Individual
Instruction for at home practice and practice routines
