The Ontario Provincial Honour Band, Western Intermediate Honour Band, Laurier Elementary Honour Band, and the Capital Region Honour Band are joining forces to bring you an honour band experience like you’ve never seen before. New information regarding activities and highlights can be found below! 

This virtual honour band experience, Sound Travels: Honour Bands of Ontario will include the following exciting activities and opportunities.

• No audition required!

• Three honour band levels: elementary (gr. 7/8), intermediate (gr. 9/10), and senior (gr. 11/12)

• Three Saturday Morning Sessions on April 17th, 24th, and May 1st, running from approximately 10 AM to 12 PM each morning. Specific times may vary and will be provided to registrants.

• Multi-Level Commissioned Piece by Ryan Meeboer, and a world premiere by all participants in the program! 

• Additional pieces and performances at each band level

• Conductors Dr. Gillian MacKay and Dr. Colleen Richardson

• Group lessons provided by Western University faculty

• Q&A and Performance by Yamaha Artist David Pell (trombone)

• Breakout sessions on topics including, but not limited to: university auditions, new musician habits, lifelong musicianship, and instrument-specific tips and tricks.
